Eligibility:
Candidates should have completed 17 years on or before the 31st day of December, of the year of admission.
Candidates should have passed any other examination conducted by Boards/Councils/Intermediate education established by the State Government/Central Government and recognized as equivalent to the two-year pre-university examination by RGUHS/Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with English as one of the subjects, and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects, and the candidate should have passed English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually.
Candidates must have obtained a minimum of not less than 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English taken together in the qualifying examination. With respect to candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes or other backward classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English taken together in the qualifying examination should not be less than 40% instead of 50% as mentioned above.
In case of candidates from the stream of Vocational Higher Secondary Course, conducted by the Board of Vocational Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala; the candidates should have taken a minimum of 5 subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, in addition to the vocational subject.
Foreign nationals: (including Nepali, Bangladeshi, Bhutani, and Tibetan refugee) seeking admission to Basic B Sc Nursing program candidates should have qualified 12th standard obtained by association of Indian University/ Institution/ Council or equivalent that has been prescribed by Indian Nursing Council.

Examination:
Students shall have university examination at the end of each year. Minimum pass marks shall be 50% in each of the theory and practical separately.
Class tests will be conducted periodically to evaluate the student’s performance in each subject. The average marks will be sent to the university as internal assessment, for both theory and practical.
A model exam will be conducted before the university examination.
Carry over system: The benefit of carry over system is extended to the students of B Sc Nursing course. The candidates shall complete all the subjects of first year before appearing for third year examinations and all the subjects of second year before appearing of for fourth year examination.
